1 ASEAN is a coalition of ten countries in the South-East Asia region. These include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, and now also Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Vietnam after the organizationâs membership was expanded.
2 According to this Agreement, China will participate in hydroelectric cooperation with Myanmar through implementation of the BOT Ruilijiang First Class Hydroelectric Power Station with an installed capacity of 600,000 kW. However, this cooperation has stagnated since the government of Myanmar set aside the Myitsone Dam Project.
